Shopping: H&M

On Saturday I had to go to the city centre to get some watershoes (for my holidays in Crete - the 'beach'  in front of the hotel is a pebble/rock beach) and a cd drive (I can finally play Sims 3 now!) for my computer - but when my mom suggested passing by the H&M I couldn't say no. And of course I bought a few items from the new collection! (Unfortunately I already threw away the receipt so I don't remember the prices of all the items)

A reddish tanktop with a heart with skulls in it. I love this colour, and it seems to be a trend this autumn, so I'm happy!
I think this one costed 9.95 euros.

A greenish/yellowish (what is it?) tanktop with an owl (I love owls!). As you can see it is longer at the back and it is also kind of oversized, mostly at the back. I don't remember the price of this one.

A dark purple cardigan, again a colour I really like for autumn/winter. I think this one costed 19.95 euros.

Not a very clear photograph, but these are dark skinny/stretchy jeans (they are very tight around the legs, but I like that!) These were 19.95 euros.

A gray pencilcase with hearts! So cute, don't you think? I really needed a new pencilcase for uni but I didn't want to get a boring one, so I am glad I found this! This was 2.95 euros.

In August I am going shopping in Antwerp with my mom, a city I've wanted to go to for a very long time because I've heard there are very nice shops. Do you have any tips - certain streets or even shops I should really go to?

Things I Love: Pull and Bear

I recently discovered Pull and Bear, a Spanish (correct me if I'm wrong!) clothing brand. As I admired the clothes on their website I thought: they probably only have stores outside of The Netherlands. But I was wrong: they have 3 shops in The Netherlands, including one in The Hague. And I happened to be going to The Hague this week with Eline (it's only about 15 minutes by train from where I live), so of course I had to go and have a look! I bought one tanktop, which will be very useful during this hot summer weather.

This is the top I bought at Pull and Bear in The Hague on Thursday, it was only 8 euros! I'm happy with it, especially because of the colour - my closet was full of white tops so I really needed something in a different colour.

Looking at the clothes on the website, I see lots of things I would love to own, and especially the tops are totally my style - relaxed, sometimes a bit childlike and comfortable. Here is a selection of the things I like:

What do you think of Pull and Bear?

Holidays!

Hi everyone!

I didn't post anything for a very, very long time. The main reason: exams! But I had my last exam on Friday and I now have a 3 1/2 month holiday until I start university half way through September (If I get the grades, that is). I have quite a few plans for this summer, starting with Speech Day tomorrow (a 'closing off' event with the whole class, with speeches from teachers and students) and prom on Friday. I will also be going on some trips: in July I will spend 5 days in Prague with Eline, and in August I will spend 7 days in Agios Nikolaos on Crete (Greece) with Kim. For the rest I will be doing to usual things: meeting up with friends, shopping, reading, and going on a few day trips to the zoo and attraction parks. And of course I will mainly RELAX, because that's something I haven't done a lot in the last 2 years!

Today I handed in my books at school and then went for lunch at Bagels and Beans with Sara and Abena. Do you know Bagels and Beans? They have amazing bagels - I had one with salmon and cream cheese, absolutely delicous :)
After that I went shopping with Abena, and just on time I found a dress for Speech Day! I will show you the dress and a couple other things I bought.

The dress I bought for Speech Day. First I was thinking of wearing a black dress, simply because I have nothing else. But that dress is really wintery so I am glad I found this! Will wear it with simple black pumps I think, don't have anything else and couldn't find anything else today either.
The theme for Speech Day is Harry Potter, but as you can see I am not dressing for the theme. I think a lot of people aren't, because it is a really hard theme to dress for unless you want to look like a school girl with a skirt and tie.

I bought this dress at H&M for 19,95 euros (so cheap!).

Our Senior Prom this Friday is a masquerade so the main goal of our shopping spree was buying a mask. This is the mask I bought. Probably won't wear it very long though, because I have glasses and without them I can't recognise people very easily. I bought it at a 'party shop' for about 4 euros.
I already bought my prom dress last summer in Hamburg, maybe I'll post pictures of it after prom.

And last but not least some products from The Body Shop!
Left: Body Butter Duo - Floral Acai. I already wanted this for a long time, it smells lovely! I never bought it because I found it too expensive (17 euros) but I thought I deserved it now because I survived my exams.
Middle - Coconut Body Butter (small). My big coconut body butter is almost finished, but I didn't want to buy another big one, because I was already buying the duo one, so decided to buy a small one which we also be useful to take on holidays. I think it was 5 euros, but I am not exactly sure.
Right - Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray (small). Saw this in the rack with mini products and decided to buy it, it is a spray which refreshes and revives tired feet. Very useful after prom, and for taking on holidays because it is so small. This also costed about 5 euros.

Are you also doing exams this year? If you are in the Dutch system and you are in the middle of your exams: good luck!

Some new things

Yesterday I went to Amsterdam with Kim. First we went to the Sunday Market at the Westergasterrein, where designers sell their products, such as cards, jewellery and childrens clothes. There are also stalls with good food. The Sunday Market takes place every first Sunday of the month. After that we went to the Kalverstraat area to shop there. I didn't buy many things, but I still want to show you the things I bought! :)

White top with dark blue stripes, it's a bit wide but not really oversized.
Monki, € 10

 Grey sweater with owl
Monki, € 35

Cards with animals from Tamarulla design & more, aren't they cute?
I bought these at the Sunday Market, for € 1 each.

Did you ever go to the Sunday Market in Amsterdam?

Some new things

Yesterday I met up with 2 good friends, Kim and Yolanda (I hadn't seen her in 3 years! And Kim had never met Yolanda before.) in Utrecht. We had a lot of fun, and of course we spent most of our time shopping. I think we spent about 45 minutes in the H&M, and in the end we all bought the same cardigan, but in different colours. I bought a light blue one, Kim a dark blue one and Yolanda a pink one. Now we're cardigan triplets! Here are some pictures of the things I bought (and got).

The cardigan that I bought. It looks a bit weird on this picture, but I couldn't be bothered to do all the buttons.

A white singlet with black stripes and bows. Also from H&M.

A present from Yolanda, two photoframes and Autodrop (candy/liquorice in the shape cars). Yolanda put pictures of the three of us in the big photoframe, and wrote next to it that we could use it for the first picture of the three of us together.

I also bought caramel tea at the Xenos, but I don't have a picture of that. And Kim gave me and Yolanda chocolate muffins, but we ate them straight away so we don't have any pictures of those.

Did you go shopping or get any presents recently?

Shoplog England

I spent the first week and a bit of my holidays in England, and of course I did the necessary shopping! I didn't spend much time shopping for clothes, because my brother (who says I've been in a clothing shop for hours when, actually, I've only been in there for 15 minutes) and dad were with me and my mum. But I still bought some nice things. Here are some pictures:

David & Goliath pyjama pants! The left one has hearts in different colours/styles and the right one has little big bens, red busses, guards and clouds (I just had to buy this one!).

Two David & Goliath T-shirts, with London theme of course :]

Poster of the map of the tube (ignore the books, I had to make the poster flat xD).

Bag with I <3 London, for the schoolbooks that don't fit in my normal schoolbag, and tea in little red bus tins.

Close-up of the tins with tea. The left one contains 'London tea' and the right one English Breakfast tea.

Book with high tea recipes <3
And the book 'Make The Most of Your Time on Earth' with 1000 travel experiences in many different countries.

These cupcake cases are so cute, I just had to buy them when I saw them :]

Some books to help me prepare for university and some to help me with my extended essay. From left to right: a book with poems by Federico GarcĂa Lorca (including English translations!), a book with Spanish short stories (again with English translations), a book on how English became the world's language, a biography about Kazuo Ishiguro, an autobiography of Evelyn Waugh (I'm doing my extended essay on 'The Remains of the Day' by Ishiguro and 'Brideshead Revisited' by Waugh), and a book on linguistics. I think you can guess that I want to study something with language and linguistics?

I always send cards to my friends when I am on holidays, and I also always buy some for myself. This time I bought two in Oxford and one in Windsor.

After a lot of problems (I ordered it from Amazon.de but they sent me an e-mail twice saying that it would come 2 weeks later, and I searched for it in music stores in The Netherlands but they didn't have it anywhere) I finally got my copy of Dirty Work, All Time Low's new album! :]

Some magazines! Seventeen (an american magazine, which you've probably heard of in ANTM), National Geographic Traveler and Jamie (Oliver) magazine :]

Besides this we also bought a box of cadbury roses (amazing chocolates!), but I didn't take a picture of those. And my brother got a ferrari from my dad. Too bad for him it's a model xD

What kind of things do you buy when you go on holidays?

Shopping!

School is pretty much over for summer, and so I had some time to go shopping with my mom this week! This is what I bought :]

The same top in white and green from Esprit, it's really basic but I think the sleeves (you can't really see them very well here) make them really nice!

A white tanktop (to wear under the white top from the previous picture because it is very see through) and a white top with print from H&M.

A grey skirt with tiny stars (you can't see them here...) from Mango. Luckily it was in the sale, so it was 20 euros instead of 40!

Three nailpolishes from essence, the left two can be used to create a cracked effect, with the very left one as a base colour and the middle one as a cracked topcoat. I tried it out but I don't really like the white cracking topcoat, so I am still looking for a black one. The right nailpolish is a normal one (75 Tryin' to be cool), I think the colour looks really pretty! I don't know what it looks like on your nails though.

I am really happy with my new things! Did you buy anything recently?

I love Hamburg

My all time favourite city: Hamburg. Why? I cannot properly define my love for this city. I love the atmosphere, and I have many good memories from the 7 years that I lived in Hamburg. Plus you can do nice shopping in Hamburg, there are nice restaurants and three times a year there is an amazing funfair! I think there are enough reasons to love Hamburg.
